Stop Smoking Practices Assessment Tool for Healthcare Facilities

Leading IFH specialists have developed the Stop Smoking Practices Assessment Tool for Healthcare Facilities that is aimed to ensure tobacco-free environment in healthcare settings.

Creating a 100% tobacco-free environment is the only efficient way to protect the population’s health. For this reason, the Federal Bill “Protecting the Population from Consequences of Tobacco Use” was proposed to reinforce anti-tobacco requirements and to impose a ban on smoking in public places, including territories and premises of healthcare and sanitary facilities.

The goal of the Stop Smoking Practices Assessment Tool for Healthcare Facilities is to assist healthcare executives and providers in identifying tobacco control measures and assessing the current situation for further health promotion activities. The Tool explains the importance of anti-tobacco steps and gives monitoring recommendations.

This Tool is useful for quick baseline assessment and self-assessment as well as progress monitoring. It allows health facilities to launch anti-tobacco programs or to facilitate and modify the existing ones. The Assessment Tool utilizes successful international experience and the most advanced tobacco-control policies.

The Tool was developed by IFH specialists in the framework of Women against Smoking project implemented in KHMAO in 2012. It is intended for health authorities and a wide range of medical provieders.

Stop Smoking Practices Assessment Tool for Healthcare Facilities is available in Russian at the Resources section.
